Baudax Bio is a revenue-generating, specialty pharmaceutical company focused on developing and commercializing innovative products for acute care settings. The Company has multiple investigational non-opioid therapeutics in clinical development for the treatment of pain conditions and is currently promoting their lead product, ANJESO™, indicated for use in adults for the management of moderate-to-severe pain, alone or in combination with non-NSAID analgesics.

Our pipeline also includes other early-stage product candidates, including two neuromuscular blocker agents (NMBs) and a related proprietary chemical reversal agent, and Dex-IN, a proprietary intranasal formulation of dexmedetomidine, a selective alpha-2 adrenergic agonist that is being developed for its sedative, analgesic and anxiolytic properties.

We believe we can create value for patients and shareholders through our robust pipeline of product candidates. In addition, we continue to evaluate acquisition and licensing opportunities which align with our core acute care focus.

Position Summary

The Associate Director/Director role will support the development and implementation of access and reimbursement strategies and tactics to support the Baudax organization. This individual will report to the Senior Director, Marketing and will work closely with the National Director of Trade and Distribution, Health Economics Outcomes Research/Medical and field teams to optimize access to ANJESO® (meloxicam) injection. 

Core Competencies and Qualifications:

  • Candidates should have strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to effectively and efficiently execute, within a matrix organization.
  • Lead the development and evolution of payer, reimbursement, Health Outcomes, strategies in support of optimal access for ANJESO across the acute care and outpatient marketplace.
  • Demonstrated initiative and ability to work independently is required. Experience and knowledge of promotional regulatory processes is key.
  • Additional competencies include Strategic Planning, marketing analytics, and Customer / Competitive insights.
  • Ability to think strategically, hands on/execute navigate top line and do the work
  • Maintain thorough understanding of market dynamics and access complexities
  • Design integrated programs and messages that convey clear value proposition to market access organizations and other key constituents to support optimal patient access and achieve strategic and financial goals
  • Develop tools, resources, and programs for the field teams to achieve short-term and long-term business objectives
  • Develop and communicate strategies and plans for broader and deeper market access engagement with KOLs, payer membership educations and other key constituents within Baudax’s payer customer base
  • Leverage payer and other third-party stakeholder insights to drive key access strategic choices
  • Lead the Economic messaging and participate in brand planning to provide input into brand strategy development, representing the market access/payer perspective and ensuring economic considerations are incorporated
  • Identify gaps in current market access understanding and develop plans to gain direct payer insights through primary research, advisory boards, etc., and work with vendors to implement projects in a timely, impactful manner
  • Leverage payer and other third-party stakeholder insights to drive key access strategic choices
  • Maintain oversight over payer issues, opportunities, and recommendations to leadership stakeholders
  • Partner closely with the field sales team and our Director National Accounts team to lead execution of strategies and tactics to effectively engage payers
  • Liaise with Medical Affairs and Regional Medical Director teams to guide evidence generation plans and ensure health economic activities meet the needs of payers while demonstrating value of our therapy
  • Responsible for developing payer & reimbursement-centered branding, awareness, and pull-through
  • Must have strong ability to prioritize and work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Coordinate efforts between internal stakeholders and field-based teams and propose key success metrics and incentives
  • Other responsibilities as assigned

Education & Experience


  • Bachelor’s degree required and an advanced degree is strongly preferred.
  • 5+ years in the pharmaceutical industry or related consulting and relevant experience in marketing and market access is required.


  • Experience and general knowledge across multiple market channels to include Buy and Bill, Payer, Provider, Employer, Specialty Distribution, ASCs, IDNs, etc. is strongly preferred.
  • Experience in benefit design, specialty distribution and funding economics associated with Medicare, Commercial and Medicaid Reimbursement.
  • Experience in translating insights and strategies into effective marketing tactics, and ability to drive execution of key initiatives and meet all deadlines.

Work Environment

  • Based in Baudax Bio office, Malvern, PA
  • Ability to travel to Launch Meetings, POAs, customer visits, market research, etc., as needed
